Legal Lens Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026. Legal Lens is developed by Jaydeo Sawale. Contact: jaydeep.sawale97@gmail.com.

What we collect

Account name, email and Firebase user identifier; questions, generated answers, saved conversations and preferences; documents and document metadata that you choose to upload; extracted text and search embeddings; and reports or support messages you submit. Servers and service providers may process technical logs such as request metadata, IP address, errors and security events. The app does not require your location, contacts, SMS, microphone or camera access.

How information is used

To authenticate users, store and search documents, generate cited research responses, save research history, enforce account permissions and usage limits, investigate reports and protect the service. Uploaded documents are stored using Cloudflare R2; account and research records and embeddings use PostgreSQL hosted by Supabase. Firebase handles sign-in. Render hosts the API and Vercel hosts the website. Questions, relevant document excerpts and limited conversation context are sent to Groq to produce answers. Provider handling and retention are governed by their terms; do not upload confidential, privileged or sensitive personal information. See Groq data handling.

Access and sharing

Personal document retrieval is scoped to your account. Authorized administrators may access research and documents to operate the platform, review submitted documents and investigate problems. Explicitly approved platform knowledge may be available to other users; ordinary private uploads are not automatically public. We do not sell personal information or show advertising. Service providers process information to deliver the app. Information may be disclosed when legally required.

Security and retention

Network requests use HTTPS and Firebase authentication. We retain account and research data while your account is active unless you delete items or request deletion. No system can guarantee absolute security. Providers may retain operational or backup records according to their policies. Legal or security records may be retained where required.

Your choices and deletion

You can delete your documents and conversations in the app. To delete your account and associated records, or request deletion of selected data, follow the account and data deletion instructions. Account settings include this same pathway.

Adults and research limitations

Legal Lens is intended for adults aged 18 or older. It is an independent research tool, not a government service, law firm or substitute for a qualified lawyer. AI output may be incomplete, incorrect or outdated. Check original official sources and citations before relying on an answer. Report problematic answers using the in-app reporting control.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected in this page and the app where appropriate.
